Opened in 2025, the Courtyard Residence accommodates up to eight guests in a standalone villa with its own butler team, private dive boat, and direct access to Wakatobi’s protected reefs.
At Wakatobi’s Courtyard Residence, the idea of having it all is less a promise than a straightforward description of what’s on offer.
Founded in 1996, Wakatobi Resort was born from the belief that it could be both the world’s finest diving destination and the pinnacle of refined tropical hospitality. Thirty years later, that vision continues to evolve. Designed to accommodate up to eight guests, and with a second residence set to open in late 2026, Wakatobi continues to expand its offering. Conceived as “a resort within a resort,” the Courtyard Residence represents the latest intersection of purposeful design and absolute privacy.

Every Element Beckons Your Name
Your journey begins in Bali, where our team welcomes you aboard Wakatobi’s private flight, reserved exclusively for guests of the resort and the Pelagian Dive Yacht. For those arriving by private jet, our dedicated airstrip also accommodates direct landings. As the plane descends onto the island, the reef comes into view below — a long wall of coral dropping away from a white sand shoreline.
A short transfer by car and boat brings you to the Residence’s private jetty on a powdery white sand beach, where your butler team is waiting. Upon approach, the Residence makes its presence known. Spanning over 8,000 square feet, it features expansive terraces with uninterrupted ocean views, an indoor swimming pool, and local craftsmanship throughout. Every detail is considered: additional cabinetry in each bedroom and bathroom, indoor and outdoor shower rooms, and a serene zen garden suited to morning meditation. Two exceptional master suites anchor the space, while additional rooms flex to accommodate guests or transform into a private spa or yoga studio, tailored to your preferences. Perched apart from all other accommodations, the Courtyard Residence offers guests the freedom to socialize as much or as little as they desire.

Protected Reefs With A Dedicated Boat & Private Guides
Once guests settle in, the reefs of Wakatobi await. The immediate waterfront surrounding the Residence is privately owned and protected by the resort and its dedicated reef guardians, who safeguard the reefs’ natural serenity. The resort currently protects 35 kilometers of reef, a number that grows each year. For new and experienced divers alike, the waters offer some of the most biodiverse diving in the world.

Both divers and snorkelers staying at the Residence have their own dedicated boats and guides. For underwater photographers, guides are practiced at locating specific species for both wide-angle and macro work. Hot towels and food are served aboard after each dive, and the team manages gear at guests’ discretion. The Residence has its own rinse tanks, and the boat is available as much or as little as guests choose.

Ready for an extended surface interval? Walk back onshore and spend the afternoon on the private beach, or relax on the terrace swing overlooking the water.
Sunrise, Sea, Serenity, Repeat
As the day draws to a close, the private chef arrives, ready to prepare supper. The kitchen becomes fragrant with carefully prepared plates, each tailored to guests’ own dietary preferences. Pair the meal with craft cocktails or a glass selected by the resident sommelier. And despite the care behind every detail, the real pleasure of an evening at the Residence is simpler: gathering around the table with close companions, with an unobstructed sunset view over the ocean straight from the kitchen.

Sunrise, sea, serenity, repeat.
For some, the Courtyard Residence is a destination. For others, it becomes something more personal — a place they return to not only for the diving, but for something less easily defined. A second Residence is set to open in late 2026.
