If you’ve ever said “I need my space,” then Wakatobi’s newest bungalows are for you. For those not familiar with Wakatobi Resort, Turtle Beach is a scenic stretch of white sand located at the southern end of the property offering stunning ocean views. This setting is a more secluded part of the resort, but just a short stroll to the restaurant, Longhouse, and dive center.

Both sleeping and relaxation spaces are some 20 percent larger in the Wakatobi Turtle Beach Bungalows than those of the Ocean Bungalows.

Floor plans for the Turtle Beach Bungalows mirror existing designs, and buildings are similarly constructed from sustainable local materials by local workers. Interiors feature the same rich woodwork and offer a full range of modern comforts. The difference is in the dimensions, as both sleeping and relaxation spaces are some 20 percent larger than those of the Ocean Bungalows.

AN Asian-style outdoor shower garden features double rainfall shower heads and a separate outdoor entrance from the beach, an ideal feature for thoe who don't want to track sand and water through the bungalow.

Even more expansive are the bathroom and shower areas. The enlarged indoor bathrooms of the Turtle Beach Bungalows include double sinks and large dressing and drying spaces. This area in turn connects to an Asian-style outdoor shower garden featuring a pair of rainfall shower heads and a separate outdoor entrance from the beach. This is an ideal feature for swimmers and divers who don’t want to track sand and water through the bungalow.

For more room and privacy, we added the first of what may be several two-bedroom bungalows on Turtle Beach.
