The Wakatobi villa experience begins well before guests arrive at the resort. On arrival at Bali’s international airport, guests are greeted by a Wakatobi representative who assists with details of entry, transfer, and layovers, including hotels, Bali tours, and additional services for guests planning an extended stay in Bali before or after visiting Wakatobi.

On the morning of travel to the resort, Villa guests relax at the airport’s Revolver Cafe and enjoy a complimentary breakfast before boarding a guest flight to Wakatobi’s private airfield. On arrival, they are once again greeted by an attentive concierge team and escorted to the resort and their Villa.

Wakatobi Villas feature upscale touches such as sculpted stonework, rich hardwoods, and inviting indoor/outdoor spaces such as spa showers, an ocean view spa tub, and private pools surrounded by expansive deck space.

And to deliver the ultimate in comfort and relaxation, Wakatobi Villa guests are provided with the additional services of a personal steward. Known as Private Resort Experience Managers, these hospitality professionals are always on call to arrange anything from in-room massages to private beachfront dinners, day trips to a nearby island, nature and birding hikes, and cultural tours to local villages. Wakatobi guests enjoy exclusive access to a collection of Indonesia’s most spectacular and protected coral reefs. Sitting right in front of the resort is the House Reef, which has been named “The World’s Best Shore Dive.” Accessible day or night, this vast area of seagrass meadows and coral formations delights divers and snorkelers alike. Wakatobi’s private marine preserve takes in more than 40 additional sites that have enjoyed proactive protection for more than 25 years and remain in pristine condition.

Wakatobi Villa guests are also provided with a private dive or snorkeling guide, which is an especially attractive service for those looking to develop or enhance their time in or under the water in a safe and supportive environment. These skilled guides are the cornerstone of the resort’s private diving and snorkeling program, and their goal is to provide the ultimate in-water experiences. Soon after checking into a villa, guests have a chance to get to know their private snorkel/dive experience manager. Guides accompany villa guests on every dive or snorkeling excursion to provide an appropriate level of guidance and assistance when needed.

Guides are also accomplished underwater naturalists who are adept at finding and pointing out the many rare and intriguing forms of marine life found within the resort’s private marine preserve. Wakatobi is located in the heart of the world’s most bio-diverse marine ecosystem, and snorkelers and divers can view more than 700 species of coral and thousands of varieties of marine life, including rare finds such as pygmy seahorses.

Wakatobi Villa guests also enjoy private boat service, which provides the ultimate in personal attention and scheduling freedom. Couples celebrating special events such as a honeymoon or anniversary find a private boat is the perfect way to share a memorable day of diving, snorkeling, and relaxing on the water. Throughout the cruise, the crew provides all of the extra touches that Wakatobi is so well known for such as lunch at sea or a picnic on a deserted island.

“That’s what Wakatobi does so well. They make your stay so perfect that you don’t lift a finger.”

Villa guests can also engage the resort staff to create special moments ashore.  “We enjoyed a private meal on the beach for our anniversary,” says Dave Snape. “We had a designated waiter who stood in the dark under the trees waiting to serve us whenever we needed food or wine. That felt a bit unusual because I’d never experienced that kind of five-star service before. That’s what Wakatobi does so well. They make your stay so perfect that you don’t lift a finger.”
