One of the most recent of these industry recognitions comes from the editors at Bonnier, who publish Sport Diver magazine’s World’s Best Diving and Resorts.

Sport Diver hosts on their websites a video introduction to Wakatobi as part of their World’s Best series. The video features colorful imagery of the resort and the underwater landscape, leading off with one of the Pelagian’s signature experiences: the mating behavior of mandarinfish at at the dive site Magic Pier. Additional images of the resort and area reefs paint a vivid and enticing picture of what awaits at Wakatobi. Prominent recognition

For 2015, Wakatobi is featured prominently in this annual publication, with both an aerial photo of the resort displayed on the cover, and additional full-page mentions within the editorial content in Sport Diver US and UK. Wakatobi was one of the only land-based resorts in the Indo-Pacific region to receive this recognition. Among criteria used to select candidates for this list are the overall quality of the marine environment, the diving experience, the professionalism of the dive staff, the level of service provided by the resort, and the setting and amenities of the property itself. Not surprisingly, Wakatobi excelled in each of these categories. Sport Diver’s editors cited the resort for it’s five star service, luxurious accommodations, superior diving infrastructure and the outstanding bio-diversity of the marine environment.

In summation, the Sport Diver team states “it is this diving diversity combined with the luxuries of a world class beach resort and liveaboard dive yacht, that have made Wakatobi one of the world’s most desirable dive destinations.

They also recognized our House Reef as one of the world’s best shore dives, mentioned the resort’s capability to further enhance the dive experience with cruises aboard the dive yacht Pelagian, and noted that our international team of dive guides was uniquely suited to accommodate guests from all regions of the world.
